Kiley can’t remember a time when she wasn’t fascinated by everything to do with the earth’s creatures. She’s always suspected that a career spent bettering the lives of animals would suit her well. For Kiley, helping pets to stay happy and healthy as a veterinary professional simply makes sense! She’s a Certified Veterinary Technician here at Westside Pet Hospital.
Kiley grew up in Pendleton and Fossil, Oregon, and moved to Bend in the summer of 2013 to enroll in the Veterinary Technician program at Central Oregon Community College. She graduated in 2016, and signed on here at the hospital shortly afterward. Kiley has been a part of the clinic family for more than four years and looks forward to continuing to help the area’s pets live the happiest, healthiest lives possible! She has a special passion for dental cleaning work, and she also loves to dote on new puppies and kittens.
Outside of work, Kiley likes spending time with her family and pets, traveling, and collecting. She shares her life with two loveable and loyal Boxers, Mickey Mouse and Dexter Morgan.
Katie has adored animals ever since her earliest memories. She was always the one in her family who shared a special bond with the earth’s creatures, and she knew early on that she wanted to work with pets professionally in the future. Katie’s dream never wavered! Now, she’s a member of Westside Pet Hospital’s skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant team.
Katie is a Bend native and started working as a Kennel Assistant at a local animal hospital when she was entering her junior year of high school. She was trained on-the-job to become a Technician, and she’s been working with animals professionally ever since. Now, Katie has been working with animals hands-on for nearly nine years and is proud to continue her veterinary journey as a member of the Westside Pet Hospital family!
Around the clinic, Katie loves to perform blood draws and nail trims. Her favorite part of every shift, though, is getting to meet new pet owners and their adorable companions.
At home, Katie and her husband share their lives with three dogs. Ohana is a French Bulldog who was Katie’s very first canine companion; Mason the American Staffordshire terrier doesn’t let his older age slow him down; and Stormi the American Bulldog loves everyone and anything, especially playing outdoors and going on hikes.
When a person has an irresistible love for animals, they sometimes find themselves pursuing a career in the veterinary world. This is precisely what happened to Breana Dorame, who always had pets while growing up and loved animals unconditionally. So it makes perfect sense that today she is a veterinary receptionist at Westside Pet Hospital. This way, she gets to fulfill her dream of devoting her life to helping animals!
Born and raised in Costa Mesa, California, Breana is proud of her strong Southern California roots and Tongva Native American heritage. She believes it has played a role in her extreme interest in animals and nature.
Breana has constantly been around and studied animals in some capacity, beginning when she volunteered at a local zoo in her hometown. She then attended the University of California Santa Barbara and majored in Zoological sciences. While in college, she found time to volunteer at the Santa Barbara Marine Mammal Center.
After college, Breana moved back to Costa Mesa and worked at a large dog boarding, daycare and swimming facility. Her current stop finds her in Bend, Oregon at Westside Pet Hospital. Here she’s able to interact with all the amazing animals, give them treats, and foster relationships with pet owners. As a pet owner herself, she realizes the bond of the pet/owner dynamic.
Even when she’s not at the animal hospital, Breana is still surrounded by plenty of animals at home. She has 3 puppies; a Border Collie mix named Poppy Bear, a lab/cattle dog mix named Snoop Dogg, and a kelpie mix named Olive. To top it off,she also has a mischievous black cat named Ollie.
To relax, Breana enjoys spending time in nature and surrounded by wildlife. Put her near any beach, river or lake, and she’s a happy camper!
