There’s a pretty cute kitty holiday coming up. Cinco de Meow is May 5th! You’re probably familiar with the original holiday, Cinco de Mayo. The spring Mexican holiday has officially gone to the cats! Here, a Bend, OR vet lists some cute ways to celebrate with Fluffy.
Gifts are a must for any kitty holiday. A new bed is bound to get that little motor going! You can also get Fluffy a cat tower, a scratching post, a pet tent, or perhaps some catnip.
Kitties aren’t usually very big taco fans. That’s really for the best, as many common taco ingredients, such as garlic, onions, and spices, are unsafe for them. You can give your feline friend some cooked, plain chicken, steak, shrimp, fish, or hamburger, though. There are also pet food brands putting out taco-themed cat food for this special occasion. That could also be a cute treat.
There are plenty of cute pet products that fit purrfectly with Cinco de Meow. Fluffy may enjoy a cactus-shaped scratching post or a catnip taco toy. Your other pets can get in on the fun as well. Pick up a doggy sombrero or a taco-themed holiday tag for Fido, or get him a dog toy shaped like guacamole dip and chips. You can even purchase an avocado outfit for your Guinea pig. (Note: avocado is actually toxic to pets, so don’t share your real guac.)
Snap some cute shots of Fluffy looking adorable with her toys, props, and treats. You can never have too many silly pictures of your furry best friend!
Support A Charity
Many animal shelters and rescues are running with the idea of Cinco de Meow, and hosting adoption sales and events. If you’ve been wanting to adopt a kitty, this could be the purrfect time! Or, if that isn’t a good option for you just now, consider donating money or supplies to an organization that’s having a Cinco de Meow event. Even sharing the word will help!
When it comes time to wind down for the night, pick a movie or show that works with the day’s theme. Top Cat is a purrfect choice, but there are plenty of other great ones to pick from. Do you have questions about your pet’s health or care? Contact us, your Bend, OR animal clinic, today!
